1 - Wayne Basford
Wayne is the Managing Director of Basford Consulting. Wayne is highly qualified and experienced in delivering both technical expertise and thought leadership to a national and international audience.
Wayne has over 25 years’ experience in audit and advisory services. He has worked with major global accountancy firms across three continents, developing extensive experience with large, multinational audits (particularly cross border listings in China). Wayne is a specialist in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). He regularly authors technical papers and newsletters on application of IFRS and Auditing Standards, as well as consulting on application of IFRS and corporate governance.
Wayne has held positions in a number of major accounting firms across the globe. In recent years he has worked for BDO WA as an audit, technical and advisory Partner. Wayne has held several leadership positions within the local, national, regional and international firm including IFRS Leader for the Asia Pacific region, Chairman of BDO International’s IFRS working committee, Global leader for IFRS in the natural resources sector, member of BDO International’s IFRS team, head of BDO Australia’s technical standards group, head of BDO WA’s professional training division ‘Insite’ and head of BDO WA’s Technical Services Group.

2 - Susan Oldmeadow-Hall
Susan has worked as a Technical Accounting Partner at both EY and BDO, having commenced her career with EY in the Audit Division. Susan spent 5 years working as a Company Secretary and CFO. In 2016, Susan returned to professional services and technical accounting at BDO for 4 years before establishing Basford Consulting in October 2020 with Wayne.
Susan regularly presents at accounting conferences and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with her clients and professional colleagues. Susan thrives on understanding and simplifying complex issues and transactions. Susan is passionate about her clients and the delivery of exceptional client service is a key priority for her.

3 - Judith Leung
Judith is a specialist on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and has extensive practical experience dealing with the application and interpretations of complex areas of IFRS. She has worked at the International Accounting Standards Board as an IASB Staff in the development of IFRS 9 Financial Instruments and is a financial instruments specialist. Judith spent over 10 years working at BDO including BDO Global IFRS Desk. During her time at BDO Global, she authored a number of IFRS publications, developed training materials and provided IFRS advice on complex and judgmental areas of IFRS.
Recently, Judith has held in-house accounting policy positions at NSW Treasury and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA). In her role at NSW Treasury, she advised and supported public sector agencies across the NSW Public Sector. During her time at CBA, she supported and advised various business and support units across CBA on complex and judgmental areas of IFRS as well as providing support to the Board Audit Committee on significant accounting matters. Judith is also an author of the Advanced Financial Reporting subject study guide for the CAANZ Chartered Accountants Program on financial instruments.
Judith particularly enjoys working with her clients to gain a thorough understanding of the issues as well as the commercial implications, providing high quality practical tailored advice to her clients.
4 - Kay Kelly
Kay particularly enjoys working with clients to understand both the detail of their transactions and the bigger picture, in order to develop solutions and provide advice that are fit for purpose.

5 - Siobhan Hammond
Siobhan is a sustainability reporting expert and led the Australian Accounting Standards Board in developing the draft Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards before starting her own business – Mind the GAAP Pty Ltd – which focuses on education and implementation of reporting, assurance and ethics standards related to sustainability.
Siobhan has previously worked as a project manager at the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and led several of their Disclosure Initiative projects (Definition of Material and Disclosure of Accounting Policies) as well as the Extractive Activities project. During her time at the IASB, Siobhan became a materiality and disclosure specialist for financial reporting and is now applying that specialty to help others implement sustainability reporting standards including those issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board.
She started her career as an external auditor and, before working with the IASB, spent several years gaining experience and understanding of a broad range of financial reporting matters across both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.
Siobhan will be working with Basford Consulting as our Head of Sustainability Reporting to better support our clients in understanding the impacts of sustainability on financial reporting and implementing the standards.
